Surabaya Continues to Attract Interest for Apartment Development

Surabaya Continues to Attract Interest for Apartment Development

The rapid infrastructure development in Surabaya has become one of the key reasons AKR Land is moving forward with apartment projects. The company plans to develop One Signature Gallery in the Jalan Sumatera area.

According to AKR Land CEO Widijanto, the development of vertical housing with a SOHO (small office–home office) concept is driven by Surabaya’s fast-advancing infrastructure and overall city growth.

“As lifestyle trends and the dynamics of Surabaya continue to evolve, they must be balanced with high-quality residences that provide maximum convenience for their occupants,” he said after signing an MoU with PT Tatamulia Nusantara Indah (TATA) at Shangri-La Hotel Surabaya, Saturday (12/8/2017).

Widijanto also explained the reason for choosing a central-city location. “We deliberately chose the city center because it will soon be crossed by government-planned projects such as Surotram and Boyorail, which will further elevate the lifestyle value for residents,” he said.

He declined to mention the total investment value of the planned 30-story One Signature Gallery. However, he emphasized, “What we can confirm is that we have already invested IDR 50 billion to construct a 37-meter-deep foundation below ground level to ensure the safety of future residents.”

AKR Land has also appointed TATA as the contractor for the 30-story tower, which is expected to be completed within the next three years.

“The construction of a tower must be inspired by the latest innovations to create a high-quality lifestyle. That is why we chose TATA — a contractor we trust to meet both our expectations and those of the market,” he added.

One Signature Gallery is planned to be marketed starting from IDR 1 billion, offering various facilities including an art gallery, riverside esplanade, sky dining, commercial area, and office area.

“We plan to develop four superblock towers, one of which will be operated by Hilton Worldwide International, the world’s largest international hotel chain,” Widijanto concluded.
