The city of Manado, the capital of North Sulawesi Province, since 2010 has been proclaimed as one of 14 cities MICE (Meeting, Incentive, Convention, Exhibition) by the government. Starting in 2012, Manado again held in the large-scale MICE event, which hosted the ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) which runs from 8 to 16 January 2012.

ASEAN Tourism Forum – ATF 2012. Manado North Sulawesi provincial capital city of a well-known for friendly people, great food diverse, diving tours and fantastic beautiful nature. At this time the city of Manado will welcome hundreds of government and private sector delegates and participants to the ASEAN Tourism Forum – ATF 2012. ASEAN Tourism Forum – ATF 2012 will be held at the Golden Kawanua Convention Center from 10 to 15 January 2012 ATF was the first in a series of annual events on the agenda of the global tourism industry. Golden Kawanua Convention Center has a comprehensive facilities including hotels and restaurants, is located only about 15 minutes from the airport.

Manado-SN Managing Director of Land Development AKR, Widijanto said the construction of Grand Kawanua Novotel Novotel Manado Convention Center and Golf & Resrot prepared for the implementation of the WOC in May 2009, became the pride of the citizens of North Sulawesi.
