GKIC Provides Assistance for Traumatic Children of Manado Post Floods Disaster

Grand Kawanua International City ( GKIC ) provides assistance to schools who are victims of flash floods in Manado North Sulawesi (Sulawesi).

"We will make donations worth of Rp40 million to aid the construction of schools that collapsed due to floods disaster in Manado some time ago", said Widijanto as the Managing Director of AKR Land Development Grand Kawanua International City (GKIC) .

He said, this time we will provide assistance to the State Elementary School ( SDN ) 23 and 56 Dendengan, District Tikala Manado.

"They will be given funds to buy materials - building materials to repair the school", he said.

As for the events, AKR Land Development plans to coordinate a variety of vendors to donate labor and expertise in rebuilding the school.

GKIC select the name of the program as a festival with the consideration that the festival will bring a positive impact on children affected by the flood. In addition, this activity also to welcome presence of a new boulevard for Manado and the surrounding area in Grand Kawanua International City.

"Boulevard that we built really answer the needs of city with a livable atmosphere, the beauty of the garden, light and art installations that enhance the atmosphere. Manado will shine as an international city", he explained.

Flash floods hit the city of Manado and Minahasa Regency in part on January 15, 2014 which killed 20 people and inflict enough damage with losses of around Rp1.8 trillion.
